Environmental Education at risk since 1 January

The Directorate-General for School Administration has ordered the abrupt termination of the placement of teachers seconded to NGOs under protocols with the APA, compelling their immediate return to their home schools — despite these placements having been approved until August 2026.

The measure directly affects three associations (ASPEA, OIKOS and PATO), but jeopardises a national Environmental Education network, with ongoing projects, approved funding, activities already scheduled with schools, municipalities and European partners.

The impact of this decision on teacher shortages in schools is negligible, but the damage to Environmental Education is enormous and immediate.

Faced with a lack of clarification and dialogue, the NGOs have filed an injunction to suspend the effects of the decision.

Milvoz stands in solidarity with these organisations and teachers. We demand transparency, reasonableness and the regularisation of the process! Environmental Education can no longer be disregarded. More than ever, it is essential to defend it as a strategic public policy and not as a dispensable variable.
