The Senhora da Alegria Bio-Reserve is more than a natural territory. It was Milvoz's first Bio-Reserve. It was here that we began to shape, on the ground, our vision for conservation and environmental education. It was here that we learned, made mistakes, adjusted and grew.
The recent passage of Storm Kristin left deep marks on this space so close to our hearts. The intense rainfall and strong winds caused the fall of numerous large trees, slope instability, landslides and changes to the riparian gallery. Trails became blocked, areas previously safe turned fragile and part of the route will have to be carefully reconsidered.
