Senhora da Alegria generates life and unity

On the 20th and 21st, in partnership with Teatrão and the Parish Council of Almalaguês, we promoted an initiative that fully reflects the bridges Milvoz seeks to build in the territory, with the precious involvement of several local residents.

We visited the Senhora da Alegria Bio-Reserve in an interpreted walk format, enriched by the experiences and memories of those who grew up beside the woodland and for whom this space holds a special place in their hearts. Beyond the aspects related to ecology and natural heritage, we listened to stories that span generations: trips to the Fonte do Calvo spring to collect water, picnics at the top of the hillside, races up the stairway that crosses it and even disputes over the stream's water, when the valley was intensively farmed and provided the livelihood of so many families.

We thank everyone involved for this beautiful initiative and for integrating the Milvoz project into such rich and meaningful moments of sharing. The work we do, focused on ecosystem preservation, goes far beyond environmental conservation: it is also about valuing the landscape, bringing people together, preserving memories and revitalising rural territories, so that their future can be more promising.
