Thousands of Bees Have Settled in Morena
The Mediterranean vegetation of the Morena Bio-Reserve now hosts more than fifty beehives, in a partnership with B-Team, a research group at the Centre for Functional Ecology of the University of Coimbra. B-Team's research focuses on the protection of pollinating insects through the study of bee ecology and ecotoxicology as a model organism, aiming for sustainable and resilient beekeeping. Beyond bees, B-Team also investigates the effects of plant protection products on other bee species.
