Has Coimbra Still Not Learned?
Coimbra, the City of Knowledge and Students, does not seem to have learned anything from the past two decades, much like the rest of the country. A forested area that had already burned in 2005, 2012 and 2017 is burning again under the same circumstances. A Google Street View image from 2023 shows the state of this land before the fire: a disordered eucalyptus plantation, infested with invasive species and still bearing the visible scars of previous fires. A forest that "exists only to burn".
