Flora and Fauna for Everyone

Ler em Português

May came to a close with an interpretive walk organised by Milvoz. Setting off from the village of Almalaguês, walkers made their way towards the slope of the Senhora da Alegria Bio-Reserve, taking in the rich natural values along the trail.

The region's exceptionally diverse flora, fully represented in this biodiversity hotspot, was at its spring peak — allowing visitors to observe many of the most emblematic species of this location.

Wildlife, particularly active at this time of year, also provided excellent sightings that clearly reflect the importance of this location as a refuge and breeding area.

In addition, it was also possible to assess the presence of threats to all this diversity, particularly the spread of invasive plant species in the region, which could jeopardise the occurrence of many of these natural values.
