At the start of 2020, Milvoz set out to showcase the biodiversity that gives life to the Bio-Reserve Senhora da Alegria. This project involved writing short descriptive texts about one or more species, covering morphological characteristics, behaviours and curiosities.
Published weekly on our social media, these texts enabled important interactions with our followers. With up-to-date information, citizens were able to learn about the most diverse vertebrates of our fauna, the plants that define the identity of the site and its most iconic invertebrates.
Without following an exhaustive list, but focusing on a subgroup of species, Milvoz showcased the treasure that is its first Bio-Reserve, as the project extended over more than two years. A total of 121 texts were published, corresponding to an above-average number of organisms cohabiting in just 2 hectares of land. It is for each of them and for ourselves (who can observe and study them) that we must keep this hillside well preserved and seek to extend this philosophy to other locations.
