The Portuguese Environment Agency has recognised MilVoz as a local Environmental Non-Governmental Organisation (ENGO). The growth in membership over recent months was essential to achieving this status.
Official recognition as an ENGO is one of the requirements for designating 0.5% of income tax to MilVoz, and it is also necessary for us to be recognised as a public utility legal entity under the terms set out in Article 4 of the ENGO Statute. This will be one of our next commitments, so that, as soon as possible, MilVoz can benefit, for environmental purposes, from the tax designation included in the income tax declarations of citizens who so choose.
Maintaining this status requires at least 100 members, a goal we have already achieved and intend to far surpass. We will therefore continue working to give voice to the individuals and organisations that contribute to the preservation of the natural heritage of the Coimbra region, a network we will seek to expand in the coming months.
